Who We are?

At Farm Profits we pride ourselves on supplying award winning milk for consumers on the Holiday coast, we do this by leading best practice management on our dairy farm (www.farmprofits.com.au).
As an award-winning business, and our aim is pretty simple – Be the best dairy farmer.

The dairy farm is located on Oxley Island in NSW, we milk 700 cows through a well set up 60 bail rotary, automatic cup removers, heatime -cow heat detection, teat-spray and drafting.

This progressive dairy farm achieves:

  1. Award winning milk quality all year to Norco Cooperative (BMCC averages around 70 for the year, in top 100 farms in Australia for BMCC for 5 years),
  2. high rates of pasture utilisation, 11 t/ha for dryland farm
  3. high in-calf rates and,
  4. low stock mortality.

    The dairy farm job
    This dairy farm work is predominantly a milking role, requiring milking twice a day
    ·Experience with milking on rotary preferable, able to put on 6 cups per min
    ·Fetching cows on a quad to the dairy
    ·Feeding calves
    ·Following dairy procedures precisely
    ··Driving tractors sowing and mowing paddocks
    ··Feeding out hay and silage

Backpacker:

Milking experience, driving tractors, feeding calves highly desirable, may suit a couple or two friends. Our location qualifies for 88 days to complete WHV. Immediate start for a term of 3 months, or longer for the right person, sponsorship may also be possible for right person who fits in with the team.
Award rates of pay, around 40 plus hours per week on average.
Bases rate for casual under pastoral award $28.26, $42.40 for overtime hours and, $56.53 for public holidays, with higher rates based on dairy experience.

Location:

The dairy farm job is on an Island on major river, has good fishing, close to beaches (10 min), schools (10 min) and towns (15 min)(population 20,000)
It is 3.5 hours North of centre of Sydney and 2 hours North of Newcastle

Accommodation:

Accommodation available for the right person, or there is a room available in share house $100 a week, if house kept clean.
