What’s the Deal?

So we’ve got this awesome veggie farm out near Cowra, and honestly, it’s a pretty sweet setup. We’re looking for people who don’t mind getting their hands dirty and want to be part of something real – you know, actually growing the food that ends up on people’s tables.

You’ll get to do a bit of everything over those 9 months, from picking veggies out in the fields to working in our packing shed. It’s not glamorous, but there’s something satisfying about it (plus you’ll have killer arm muscles by the end!).

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

Here’s the real talk on what your days will look like:

  • Picking vegetables by hand and with some pretty cool equipment (way more fun than it sounds)
  • Sorting and packing all that fresh produce in our facility – it’s like a puzzle trying to fit everything perfectly
  • Keeping things tidy and doing general maintenance (because nobody likes working in a mess)
  • Dealing with whatever weather throws at us – scorching summer days, chilly winter mornings, and everything in between (layers are your friend!)

What We Need From You

The Must-Haves:

  • Your own car or truck – we’re out in the sticks, so public transport isn’t gonna cut it
  • Being cool with 7 AM starts (I know, I know, but the early bird gets the worm… or in this case, the vegetables!)
  • Weekend work sometimes, especially when we’re swamped during harvest time

The Physical Stuff:

  • You’ve gotta be in decent shape – this isn’t a desk job, and your back will definitely feel it at first
  • Being okay with doing the same tasks over and over (oddly meditative once you get into it)
  • Playing well with others – we’re like a little farm family out here
  • Following safety rules (because nobody wants to explain a preventable accident)

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Worked on farms before or in factories/warehouses
  • But honestly, if you’re keen to learn, we’ll teach you everything

What’s In It For You

Schedule Stuff:

  • Guaranteed 30 hours minimum each week (but when harvest season hits, you’ll probably want the overtime pay anyway)
  • More hours available when we’re crazy busy
  • Schedule changes with the seasons – that’s just farm life

Money & Perks:

  • We pay proper rates according to the Horticulture Award (no dodgy cash-in-hand stuff here)
  • Might be able to help with accommodation or transport – we can chat about that if you’re interested
