Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance Business Intelligence & Record to Report, this position is responsible for the Accounting Close, Inter-company & Pay Accounting, Account Reconciliation and Fixed Asset teams ensuring stakeholders are provided with best-in-class support and both developing and operationalizing strategy for these towers within the finance organization.

This role will be required to report to one of our Corporate offices, and therefore will not be considered a fully remote position.

What you will do:

  • Ensure accounting transactions, balances and reports are appropriately prepared and reviewed for validity, accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure compliance with Group Policies, including design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting
  • Responsible for ensuring all in-scope regulatory submissions are completed accurately and in accordance with legal deadlines
  • Manage internal stakeholders and accompanying change management programs to ensure that successful service delivery is ongoing
  • Coordinate with the service excellence team through PMO as well as FBS India SLA’s.
  • Escalation point for customer complaints, service failures or adherence issues in RTR
  • Manage month-end results cycle, including month-end variance analysis actuals/forecast and YoY, reviewing results, identifying R&Os and building the preliminary outlook
  • Leverage the benefits of the ERP and other technology systems ensuring the most efficient and effective processes are adopted across the group
  • Develop Annual Plan and Long-Range Plan
  • Ensure that FBS business goals and performance objectives are reflected and achieved in the process improvement projects and operations of the end-to-end process
  • Liaise with teams across Finance
  • Ensure defined KPIs and SLAs are met
  • Check consistency on application of Record to Report governance protocols and policies
  • Guide and lead alignment of various strategic initiatives to multiple programs and/or projects
  • Ensure the team has the facilities, tools, resources and skills they need to deliver on commitments while tracking ongoing execution and delivery on associated projects
  • Model our core value of safety, especially in the area of mental health, by leading and enabling a culture in which you and your team are actively contributing to a safe work environment
  • Manage overall workload and rebalance tasks between resources as necessary
  • Ensure cross training metrics are being met
  • Manage a team of leaders and their activities
  • Accurately assess team capabilities and hold them to rigorous performance standards
  • Search for new ways to reduce costs while meeting regulatory requirements
  • Continuously look for opportunities to automate and/or move manual work to FBS India
  • Set clear team goals and coach members on achieving goals and developing necessary skills that get results, with a process to evaluate progress along the way in a collaborative manner
  • Apply effective people leadership skills leading a team through performance management, career development, and budget management​
  • Coach members on achieving goals and developing necessary skills that get results
  • Balance the perfect with the pragmatic to reach outcomes that move the organization forward quickly and effectively
  • Seamlessly manage conflicts, perspectives, and priorities

What you will bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution, and 15+ years related experience of which 5+ years are in a managerial level position
  • Experience influencing leaders, peers, and delivery teams to work collaboratively and adopt leading processes, technology, and methods
  • Passion for moving out of the status-quo and leading change that makes an impact
  • Track record of growing innovation capability and maturity within Nutrien
  • Proficient in Microsoft office and general computer skills
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Service-oriented with an ability to work seamlessly across stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Be comfortable scoping solutions to complex, ambiguous and challenging issues
  • Be comfortable working with large data sets across multiple systems
  • Highly skilled in preparation of visual PowerPoint presentations targeted to a variety of stakeholders at differing levels of detail

Compensation & Benefits:

$143,920 – $197,890 This range is estimated for Director, Record to Report, in Loveland, Colorado, Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our plan(s), which provide discretionary award opportunities reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
