ABOUT THE ROLE

Based in Qube’s Head Office overlooking Sydney’s Barangaroo precinct, this position is responsible for ensuring that there are appropriate labour resourcing levels to deliver operational requirements in the most cost effective manner to meet our business requirements. Reporting to the National Labour Manager, this role supports a system driven labour allocation process. It is desirable that the person has an analytical background, with previous experience and an understanding of labour rostering procedures and industrial agreements.

NOTE: This is a seven day per week business and therefore the successful candidate will need to be able to work weekends and public holidays on a rotating roster with flexible hours. It is essential that the successful applicant has the ability to gain a Maritime Security Clearance including a Federal Police Check as the position may require the person to travel to our sites located at various ports.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate on a daily basis the rostering & associated activities of all operational labour at the site
  • Labour management to maximise productivity and efficiency for our Sites
  • Ensure site training is executed as part of the daily allocations
  • Assist New Zealand NLC as required
  • Assist as required with Microster implementation for new sites
  • Coordinate all roster changes and Microster configuration for Transport and Qube energy sites.
  • Undertake analysis of the Microster rostering system current configuration to identify associated changes to maximise the operational efficiency in line with the business requirements.
  • Undertake associated user acceptance testing on new versions of Microster application
  • Identification, escalation and ensuring Microster system issues are logged and resolved by the vendor in the shortest possible time.
  • Ensure labour is managed with the current Enterprise Agreement terms and conditions
  • Monitor, review and analyse the operational workforce skill mix and make recommendations on improvements
  • Manage, report and analyse performance and systems data and make recommendations to Operational & Senior Management
  • Identification and generate of reports pertaining to labour utilisation & cost efficiency strategies
  • Assisting and supporting the payroll through implementation, managing and developing new ways of Microster / iChris Integrated Labour Management solutions
  • Undertake projects to implement the Microster / iCHris Integrated Labour Management solution into existing and new business locations
  • Undertake projects to implement time & attendance functionality into the Microster / iCHris Integrated Labour Management solution into existing and new business locations
  • Undertaking Site visits to identify and develop new business initiatives to be implemented within the Microster / iCHris Integrated Labour Management solution
  • Undertake Site visits to assist with training of key Microster users, developing Site specific user documentation and ensuring key management compliance.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in information and data analysis
  • Strong computer literacy
  • 3-5 years’ labour rostering experience with enterprise based agreements within a mid-large organisation
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • Proven ability to analyse and solve operational labour issues
  • Proven ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding and dynamic environment
  • Experience in working with employees at all levels of the organisation
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to learn and work in a team environment
