Overview of the Role
This position is primarily responsible for the movement of trailers in the Saputo Edmonton yard. And as needed, shuttle trailers between the Edmonton Main & the Creit Warehouse and picking up or delivering trailers to and from Logoplaste.
How you will make contributions that matter:
Yard checks and verifications
Shunting company and third-party carrier’s trailers into the case dock and load outdoors
Shunting of the production trailers
Ensures accurate and timely loading/unloading of trucks according to dock loading schedule
Ensures case unloading is followed by load out schedule and bring any delays forward to the Supervisor
Shuttle trailers between the Edmonton Main & the Creit Warehouse as needed
Picking up or delivering trailers to and from Logoplaste
Clean and sanitize shunt truck before and after each use
Ensure that all work is performed safely while following OH&S, WCB, and Company regulations and procedures
Ensures that all HACCP requirements and policies are implemented and followed
Performs other related duties as required.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
Class 1 driver’s license required with the ability to operate with a high degree of safety and precision
More than 3 years of Class 1 experience
Knowledge of refrigeration equipment
Experience operating forklifts, power jacks, etc. are assets
Attention to detail and numerical accuracy – some mathematical skills required
Excellent attendance and work record
Ensure that all work is performed safely while following OH&S, WCB, and Company regulations and procedures
Physical capacity to perform medium to heavy lifting
Membership in Unifor Union of Canada, Local 445 (or must join within 30 days).
Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
Ability to work independently.
