DESCRIPTION
Forge On Park is a family owned and run Thoroughbred Pre training and agistment centre, servicing many of Western Australia’s leading owners and trainers. We are looking for a casual stable hand – farmhand to join our operation, located in Coolup WA. Approximately one hour south of Perth, 30 minutes from Mandurah and 15 minutes from Pinjarra.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out daily tasks including feeding, grooming, mucking out, rugging, loading walking machine, farm maintenance etc.
Routine health checks recognising signs of injury and or signs of an unhealthy horse and reporting concerns.
Assist with farrier’s vets float loading etc.
Comply with farm policies and procedures relating to safety and animal welfare.
CRITERIA
Sound horse handling skills with experience and confidence handling horses of various education levels.
Practical understanding of horse health care and welfare requirements, with some prior experience providing direct daily care.
Hold a current Western Australian driver’s license.
Be a reliable, hardworking person that enjoys working with horses daily.
Horse experience is preferred applicants from all horse disciplines are encouraged to apply that may include racing or harness stables to stud farms, veterinary practices etc.
REMUNERATION – OVERVIEW
Casual position 30 – 40 Hours per week
Rostered weekends (Usually two off and one on)
Mixture of full and half days. Start time is 7:30 am.
Rates Mon – Sat $28.00 Hour Sundays $50.00 Hour Plus superannuation.
Forge On Park offers onsite accommodation in a modern furnished unit to the right applicant, for $38.50 per week includes gas and water, excludes electricity.
