Description
SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in support of the recently awarded NIWC LANT Transformational Technology Analysis (TTA) for Defense Systems. This work is performed on site in North Charleston, SC.
About the Program:
– Enables analyses of advanced technology experiments in platforms and space systems
– Assists NIWC Atlantic with the development of seedling, demonstration and new start projects, and supporting prototyping activities and experimentation to assist in gaining sponsorship for strategic initiatives
– Generates STI in the form of designs, test plans, test reports, evaluations, and technical studies, as well as the recommended integration of prototype components and designs for new or existing robotic systems
– Enhances NIWC Atlantic’s ability to meet program goals including: Conducting and supporting a wide range of defense-systems and weapons systems related studies, evaluations, and analysis of methods
– Experiments in both virtual environments utilizing modeling and simulation and militarily relevant environments
– Transitions developed technology into Department of Defense capabilities
– Develops and test autonomous computer security technologies whose future iterations may someday protect national networks
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs Systems Engineering activities related to Information Technology or Engineering including: concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, system & op. performance analysis,
- Lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis and physical configuration analysis (PCA) .
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software or engineering specifications.
- Provides specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
- From an information technology perspective, may be concerned with floor layout, power & cooling, data storage, infrastructure management, backup, monitoring, operating systems, directory services, identity management, access management, and automation.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience, or additional years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree
- Active TS/SCI clearance
