The general farm hand is the most common job in Western Australia. The general farm hand works on farms and ranches and assists farmers with the day-to-day operation of their livestock and agricultural operations. The job usually involves a combination of manual labor and animal husbandry, including feeding, watering, and weeding. In addition, the general farm hand will also be responsible for collecting and delivering feed to the animals and crops, maintaining equipment, and ensuring that the livestock is healthy and well-fed.

General Farm Hand/HD Mechanic

• Our client, a family farm in the Newdegate area, was looking for a General Farm Hand/HD Mechanic to join their dynamic team.
• We are looking for candidates who enjoy contributing to a positive work environment, are able to work independently, and take initiative.
• Primary duties are workshops focused on demonstrating the ability to perform machinery-related duties (qualification required, not required) and further duties are negotiated based on skills and team needs.
• This character includes a 3×1 house, garage, and beautiful garden near the local elementary school.
• Offers a work vehicle and a competitive hourly rate starting at $35 per hour based on experience/skills.

General Farm Hand Role:

• General farm duties and workshop duties are separated as needed
• General husbandry and animal welfare required (not mandatory)
• Machine operation (e.g. loaders/telehandlers/tractors and feed mixers)
• HD Mechanic Trade is not required, but proven skills are required
• Workshop Facilities – drive through the workshop, lift platforms, and available tools

About you:

Because you will be working in a small group, you must be able to collaborate successfully and contribute to a pleasant and welcoming work atmosphere.
Mechanical and welding abilities are required.
Using initiative, working autonomously, and being able to self-manage Feedlot experience is not required since the client will instruct Machinery experience is preferred.

General Farm Hand offer:

• Salary: $35+ per hour, based on experience and skills.
• Full-time, including benefits and vacation time
• 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Accommodation: A partially furnished three-bedroom house for couples or families with a garage, a garden shed, a gorgeous yard, and a large kitchen.
• Possession of a work vehicle
