☆ Where You Come In

We are looking for a Marketing Specialist, Fundraising to join our team at Make-A-Wish Canada. This role will be responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of a wide range of fundraising activities. This position will support the Signature Fundraising portfolio (50%) by providing support throughout the participant journey (creative materials, stewardship, scripting), supporting the team with the daily management of P2P platforms, including page builds, maintenance, reporting, tracking and creative support. The position will also be responsible for supporting the national Giving programs – One Time Giving (25%) and Monthly Giving (25%), by assisting in the development and implementation of communications plans for direct mail and donor stewardship.

This role can be based out of any of our offices in Ontario (Ottawa, London, Toronto, Pickering), Quebec (Quebec City, Montreal), or the Maritimes (Dartmouth, Charlottetown, Saint John), and is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position.

☆ What You Will Do

Signature Fundraising Program

  • Collaborates with internal departments to assist with development or coordination of signature fundraising program materials (i.e. media scripts, social images, wish stories, marketing assets, sponsorship grids, etc.)
  • Provides general administrative support as needed including meeting coordination, copy editing, meeting minutes, tracking follow-ups, updating critical paths, etc.
  • Help support custom and standard event fundraising pages within Donor Drive or Crowd Change
  • Manage fundraising programs from training, participant support and requests and tracking.
  • Work with the field team on training, build questions and support relating to P2P activity
  • Triage and manage the peer-to-peer mailbox – tracking all requests/workload
  • Enters and tracks all P2P requests for transparency of workload and SLA commitment

One Time Giving

  • Direct mail support. Participate in the creative process by maintaining production schedule, liaison with DM print vendor, campaign production
  • Assist with Symbolic Giving program by maintaining sales report, quality control of platform and developing creative assets.
  • Help to support the MAWC In Memory program as required.

Monthly Giving

  • Supports the development and implementation of a national mass marketing donor stewardship and communications plan with the goal of improving retention and overall donor satisfaction to maximize the lifetime value of donors.
  • Leads all operational requirements associated with monthly giving & stewardship campaigns including the Arrears Recovery Process.
  • Supports in the creation and optimization of CRM reporting and tracking.
  • Processing of invoices and tracking expenses to support the budget tracking process.

☆ What You Bring

  • Post-secondary education in fundraising/business or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • 2-4 years work experience in the fundraising area, preferably in a multi-level organization within diverse communities.
  • Experience working with fundraising databases Donor Drive and Crowd Change.
  • Expectational oral and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving and good judgement.
  • Demonstrated time-management and organizational skills. Flexibility with changing priorities and ability to remain focused to meet targeted timelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and related search engines.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships within the office and across the organization ensuring a teamwork approach.
  • Positive attitude; ability to take responsibility and be accountable; ability to deal with change in the workplace and be innovative; respect for others.
  • A clear criminal background check is required.
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 14 days prior to the first day of work, subject to relevant accommodations or exemptions.

☆ Your Work Environment

  • Hybrid work environment (2 days in-office, 3 days remote per week) with occasional requirements to work outside of regular office hours during peak season to attend fundraising events.
  • Occasional day travel.

Physical/Mental Effort

  • Works within tight deadlines, with a high-volume workload, and with multiple demands and changing priorities.
