Job Purpose

The Picking Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate picking of goods within the warehouse. The Picking Supervisor leads a team of picking associates, ensures orders are fulfilled according to client specifications, and maintains a smooth and safe workflow to meet customer expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise the picking process to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient selection of products based on client orders.
  • Assign picking tasks to associates, ensuring proper allocation of resources and optimal use of available personnel.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (CloudX) to manage picking operations.
  • Monitor and track the department’s work productivity, ensuring that it meets set benchmarks (e.g., Units per Hour – UPH).
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that picked items match order specifications, minimizing errors and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the Client Services team to resolve picking-related customer inquiries.
  • Generate regular reports on picking performance, accuracy, and any relevant KPIs.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Enforce safety protocols and best practices to create a safe working environment for all picking associates.
  • Lead, train, and mentor picking associates to ensure they understand their roles, follow procedures, and meet productivity goals.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication among team members.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement within the picking team.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a 3PL environment or logistics industry
  • Strong knowledge of returns management processes, industry best practices, and relevant regulations
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to communicate including reading, writing and speaking; some fluency in English is required.
  • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 lbs; occasionally, with team support, lift and/or move objects greater than 30 lb.s
  • Ability to work overtime as business needs dictate.
