Wayne County Area Agency on Aging is looking for a patient, compassionate, and organized individual who enjoys assisting senior citizens to find resources for a more productive, safe, and happy life while maintaining as much independence as possible.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Aging Case Aide 2, you will perform various duties under Intake/Assessment in Honesdale Senior Center and at our Adult Daily Living Center in Hawley. You will promote independence, dignity, and quality of life for seniors.

Intake/Assessment – You will serve as the initial contact for consumers or family members requesting information regarding services. You will attend trainings to become knowledgeable and qualified to work with consumers/families in determining best available programs. Organizational skills and attention to detail are critical in this role.

Adult Daily Living Center – You will assist in all phases of personal care, ambulation, preparation/serving of food including feeding, clean-up as necessary, and recreational activities. You will be familiar with participants’ plans of care and medical diagnoses. You must become certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week).
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Aging Case Aide 1; or
  • Two years of public contact work, including one year in a human services program; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
