Agricultural Scientist Job Details:

Ag-Plus Consulting Pty Ltd is a well-established agricultural supply & consultancy business within the Wide Bay region of Queensland. We specialise in developing personalised on-farm services for increasing productivity and developing plans and policies for the management of farms. Our company has a full-time position vacancy for a qualified and experienced Agricultural Scientist to work in the Bundaberg regional area of Queensland.

Applicants for this position must have bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science and at least 3 years of recent work experience relating to the position. The selected candidate is expected to sign at least 4 years employment contract with a view to a further 4 years continuation in the same position.

Tasks and duties include;

• Collecting and Interpreting data from soil, leaf & water tests, and other analytical results.

• Advising clientele on techniques for improving the production of crops and providing alternative agricultural options as necessary.

• Giving product support for control of pest and disease issues.

• Advising clientele on herbicides to reduce weed pressure and improve soil health.

• Studying the environmental factors affecting commercial crop production with alternatives to reduce clients’ carbon footprint.

• Studying the effects of cultural techniques on crops and how they affect soil health, pests and diseases.

• Developing procedures and techniques for problem solving in agricultural crops to improve efficiency, quality, and production.

• Develop nutritional management plans for a range of different crops to increase productivity and quality sustainably.

• Any other relevant task reasonably requested by the General Manager.

This is a full-time position may involve weekend work. Basic Salary package is between $98,000 – $110,000 pa + bonuses and superannuation per annum, company utility & mobile phone, depending on Qualification, skills and experience of the prospective candidate.
