Apprentice Technician – Hyster, Mt Maunganui Job Details:

Hyster (NZ) has a nationwide network of parts and service branches specialising in the rental, sales, repair, and maintenance of lift trucks from pallet jack right up to 52-tonne container carriers. We’re excited about the opportunity to welcome new apprentices into our business.

To be successful as an apprentice with us, you will need:

• a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn;
• at least NCEA level 2 in Maths & English;
• a restricted or full drivers’ licence;
• completed a pre-trade course (preferred but not essential); and
• the drive and motivation required to learn through both practical and theory training.

You will be proactive, reliable, well-presented, have an enquiring mind, enjoy problem-solving, and have great communication skills. You will also need to be a hands-on type of person who likes working with machinery.

If you’re keen and willing to learn from others you will receive an amazing role within an industry-leading business, and a formal NZQA approved NZ MITO Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering with strand in Materials Handling Equipment (Level 3 & 4) qualification.

Due to the ongoing shortage of skilled diesel mechanics in New Zealand and globally, upon completion of your apprenticeship you will be a qualified tradesperson in an industry challenged by skill shortages. The world will be yours!
