The Apprenticeship Quality and Compliance Manager will manage, review and improve quality processes, ensuring excellent quality learning outcomes. They will also be a Deputy Safeguarding Lead supporting our strategy to maintain the safety and welfare of our apprentices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and continually review the internal quality cycle process including quality standards, policies, procedures, and action plans, ensuring compliance with apprenticeship sector requirements.
  • Develop, manage and monitor the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and any associated activities.
  • Manage sampling and verification activities to improve the progression and achievement of learners and ensure consistency across the apprenticeship team.
  • Ensure we are continually meeting the requirements of Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework and implement any improvements and enhancements as required.
  • Manage and enhance compliance with ESFA contract funding rules implementing best practices across relevant processes.
  • Manage, audit and review our safeguarding action plans, Prevent risk assessment and associated activities.
  • Provide advice on safeguarding concerns that are raised.
  • Drive outstanding performance by monitoring provision against Key Performance Indicators, ensuring compliance to quality requirements, and reporting on progress and outcomes.
  • Lead standardisation activities, in partnership with the Apprentice Programme Manager.
  • Provide a strong analytical approach to pinpoint potential performance concerns, their causes and potential interventions to address them.
  • Conduct appropriate compliance internal audits on a regular (minimum quarterly) and ad hoc basis.
  • Work closely with the Apprenticeship Programme Manager to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Manage a team of two Apprenticeship Data Coordinators ensuring all our apprenticeship quality and data is accurate, timely and compliant and opportunities are identified to continually improve and enhance our provision.

Qualifications

Analytical: Has the ability to analyse the integrity of data. Uses data to think through the best course of action despite incomplete or ambiguous information.

Planning & Organising: Understands own and business priorities. Plans effectively and monitors progress towards achievement of plans. Investigates possible roadblocks and develops contingencies to redirect tasks so momentum is not lost.

Problem Solving: Identifies and evaluates problems and possible causes to determine root causes and impacts. Researches issues thoroughly and uses sound judgement. Uses expertise in policies and procedures to make recommendations for addressing these.

Detail oriented: Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved.

  • Must have a Lead IQA qualification i.e., TAQA L4
  • Must have a Safeguarding qualification.
  • Experience in working with external bodies and managing quality improvements in apprenticeships and/ or training and education sector.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading external quality assurance visits from an awarding body or OFSTED.
  • Experience in identifying and managing process improvements in a learning and/ or qualification environment.
  • Experience in managing portfolio and funding software such as Smart Assessor, Aptem and PICs.
