Reporting to the Mine Engineering Superintendent, this temporary full-time position is a 16-month co-op that begins in May 2024.
What you will do:
- Collect and interpret mine ventilation data
- Collect and interpret rock mechanics data
- Conduct ground support testing
- Prepare reports
- Work in both the office and the field
- Look after other duties as assigned
- Contribute to the safety culture at Vanscoy Potash by demonstrating strict adherence to safety policies and procedures
What you will bring:
- Must be currently enrolled and completed at least 2 years of an undergraduate Geological or Mine Engineering program (or equivalent) at an accredited post-secondary institution AND returning to full-time studies after the work term.
- Willingness to learn and gain knowledge and experience through training
- Excellent interpersonal teamwork and communication skills
- Motivation to set and achieve goals, take initiative, and nurture projects forward
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
- Alignment with Nutrien’s
and values * Preference will be given to candidates with mining or heavy industrial experience and/or with data analytics experience
