Dairy Cattle Farmer Job

Location: Allansford, VIC 3277 Employment: Full-time, permanent Composite package: $65,000 per year (plus pension)

We are looking for qualified and experienced full time dairy farmers to join our dairy farm in Allansford, South West Victoria. We currently have 550 milkers and milk an average of 450 throughout the year.

The overall job of the suitable applicant is to plan, organize, coordinate and execute farm operations to breed and raise cows to produce high quality milk. The right candidate must be self-motivated, able to work both independently and in a team, and possess excellent communication and time management skills.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or higher, minimum 3 years recent relevant work experience

Duties

• General operational management of the daily operation with limited supervision, pasture management, milk harvesting, feeding management, administrative responsibilities, and general plant and equipment maintenance are all part of the job.
• Knowledge of advanced animal husbandry, animal welfare, dairy production, and workplace health and safety.
• The capacity to train new team members may also be required for the role.
• This is full-time employment that will need to work two weekends per month with a flexible schedule. When we are calving or harvesting, there will be some unanticipated hours of labor.
