We are currently seeking a Full-Time Assistant Farm Manager for the overall management at Bargo Free Range Farm located in Southern Highland New South Wales. This is live on site.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Operate and manage Free Range Laid egg farm:
    • Open and Close;
    • Work weekends;
    • Collect and prepare eggs for transport;
    • Maintain Animal Health & Welfare Standards;
    • Maintain Product Quality and Food Safety Standards; and

  • Salary range $ 62,134.00 to $67,795.00+ superannuation (commensurate with experience) + 15% shift loading for an early morning start times.

About the Role:

The Senior Livestock Attendant assists with the management of Dairy cattle husbandry, milking, calf rearing, and general farm duties on site for both commercial, education, and training purposes. The role assists the Dairy Manager to ensure livestock activities, which facilitate student training and education are conducted in accordance with best management practices whilst maintaining a commercial focus. This role undertakes the morning milking at Tocal Dairy, attracting an appealing 15% shift loading for early morning starts.

There is also a very comfortable 4 bedroom home located on the farm available to the successful applicant at approximately half the cost of market value. You would work until approximately 12.30 pm each day and have the afternoons off. This role allows for rostered time off in Lieu hours worked, resulting in working 5 days for one week and then 4 days every second week with the rostered day off attached to a weekend. Overtime is paid for any time worked over your 38hr week.

As our new Senior Livestock Attendant, you will be responsible for:

  • Assist with the supervision of students during milking operations, livestock feeding and livestock husbandry activities throughout the day.
  • Assist with records relating to livestock activities.
  • Undertake livestock infrastructure maintenance programs in line with Departmental requirements, including dairy cleaning and hygiene.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Current NSW Driver Licence
  • Training in milking procedures
  • Artificial insemination training
  • Ability to train and work with students (including a Working With Children Check)
  • Safe Livestock Handling training
  • Demonstrated experience in livestock handling and husbandry processes
