About The Opportunity

In your role as an Apprentice Electrician you will focus on learning and developing electrical trade skills in order to use those skills to provide quality support to Bundaberg Regional Council. You will assist in the provision of electrical maintenance for Council buildings, properties, Water and Wastewater facilities and associated equipment, in a safe and efficient manner while completing the requirements of a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.

About You

  • Keen and enthusiastic learner, with a genuine interest in becoming and Electrician
  • Committed to undertaking a 4 year apprenticeship to complete a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
  • Successful completion (or in progress) of Year 12 school certificate or equivalent
  • Good numeracy, written and verbal communication skills along with Sound computer literacy (e.g. utilising Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Physical capability to frequently perform manual labouring tasks that may involve strenuous activity, repetitive actions and work
  • Can work independently or in a team in a professional and positive manner
  • Hold a current ‘C’ class drivers licence (or willing to obtain)
  • Hold a General Construction Industry White Card (or willing to obtain)
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification and/or Current Low Voltage Rescue Certification will be highly regarded
  • A team player with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Live and uphold the Council’s values

The preferred candidate will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a Pre-employment Medical (which will include drug and alcohol testing). How to Apply

Group interviews for shortlisted candidates will be held from 17 October to 19 October 2023. Panel interviews will then be held and offers made in November/December 2023.

Positions are expected to commence from January 2024. Applicants that do not meet the above requirements may not be shortlisted.
