Pace farm is now seeking to add to our Team at our Egg Farming Operation at (Macgregor ACT) by hiring an individual keen for a new opportunity.
As Farm 2IC while working on our Farm you will be trained and groomed to be capable of managing all farming activities.
Initially this purpose-built site, will be two cage sheds followed by a free range shed early next year. This is a hands-on role suitable for an individual with previous farming experience, who is capable of not only performing day to day activities but managing the proficiency and productivity of the farm.
We consider this to be a responsible and pivotal role, where essentially, we are relying upon your work ethic and farming abilities, to progress this newly acquired farm to the next level.

About the role:
Our ultimate goal is to hire a Farm Manager we can rely on.
Our Farm 2IC, will be trained to be responsible for overseeing all our farming activities on this site, ensuring that all operating, safety, security, and hygiene needs of the Farm are met. You will also be responsible for the training of all Farms Hands on this site, to perform their jobs to the standard required.
In this role you will also be required to be flexible and available to meet the needs presented, regarding all Farming operational tasks.
Responsibilities include:
- Feeding/watering of livestock
- Achieving correct climate conditions for birds housed.
- Basic Maintenance of the site will be supported on larger jobs.
- Egg collection/packing
- Adhering to the company’s safe work environments
- Loading/unloading of egg trucks.
- Able to maintain ESA Standards for the site.
- Must be able to record basic data in excel format.
- Be able to respond to shed alarms when on call.
- Able to work every second weekend.
- Maintaining grounds around the sheds
- Loading manure trucks
About you:
- Capable of physical operations and prepared to be ‘hands’ on’.
- Capable of nurturing and working with others to achieve the desired outcomes.
- Ability to work with a team.
- Ability to adapt and flexible.
- Experience in a Farming or similar field
- Experience with building relationships
- Capable of doing some paperwork for compliance
- Physically Fit and willing to work outdoors.
- Comfortable in a dusty environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently.
- Prepared to start at ‘grass roots’ level while you learn all aspects of the job.
- Happy with a busy role with loads of variety.
- Prepared to work rostered days normally 10 on 4 off (this can be flexible depending on what is needed/requested)
