Finance & Tax Solution – Senior Associate

PwC’s Operate business delivers large operational and managed service solutions for clients to meet regulatory, risk and compliance challenges.
With over 2000 staff deployed on large implementation and execution programmes, Operate brings together top talent with a distinctive mix of knowledge and skills. Our rapidly-growing Finance & Tax Solution team supports many of the firm’s leading clients in various elements of client finance functions, including Financial Control (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger), Financial Planning & Analysis, Taxation and Treasury. We are a team of finance professionals who deliver bespoke and standard Finance & Tax Solution to our clients on an insourced, outsourced or co-sourced basis
The successful candidate will work within the Finance & Tax Solution team, an operational team made up of Finance professionals working for a wide range of clients.
Finance Managed Solutions (FMS) Senior Associates deliver our engagements by reviewing month end workbooks and working on the more complex reconciliations and areas of our client work
Key responsibilities include:
● Monthly management accounting – actuals, budgets and rolling forecasts
● Financial accounting – preparing financial statements under applicable Reporting Standards
● Accounts Payable/Receivable management
● Review of general ledger reconciliations and control accounts with key involvement in month end close
● Preparation, reconciliation and presentation of balance sheet reviews to senior stakeholders
● Collaborating with the client delivery teams in tasks and activities that span across operational project tracking and financial reporting
● Manage and coach our trainee accountants/ finance assistants in their roles in delivery
Requirements
● ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA qualified (or equivalent)
● Proven ability to produce quality financial work under pressure and to tight deadlines
● Highly proficient in the use of computerised/ cloud accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications – Excel is a must
● Good analytical skills, commercial aptitude and professionally sceptical mindset (ability to identify issues, understand complex problems, draw sound conclusions)
● Good communication skills (English) written and spoken.
● Good knowledge of the MS Office Suite
● Self-starter with a proactive approach and ability to work without supervision ● Attention to detail and high-quality standards of processes and control environment
● The ability to coach and develop others
● Enthusiastic, diligent and energetic with a flexible approach in a rapidly changing environment
● A proven track record of providing exceptional service and establishing and maintaining strong relationships
Desirable
● Experience in documenting and/or testing financial processes
● Experience in SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud or Navision

; however as a result of the wide variety of clients and projects, you may be asked to work in other locations, sometimes at short notice and sometimes over lengthy periods of time. Your desire and ability to do this will be discussed as part of the recruitment process. Candidates who are unable or do not wish to work on projects in other locations will still be considered.
