GENERAL FARM HANDS, BADGINGARRA WA Job Details:

Family owned mixed cropping and stock property located 2 hours north of Perth and a short drive to the coast. Our client is looking for a young couple who are not afraid of hard work and looking for a start in farming.

• Cattle and sheep
• Team of 6 with shared roles
• Only 2 hours to Perth

• Close to two regional towns offering sporting clubs, access to medical and hospital services, shopping and Primary and Secondary schools

About the Role:

Cropping:

• Machine operations for broadacre cropping program
• Carting grain
• Working closely with Owner/Manager liaising on the cropping program

Stock:

• Stock work – predominantly sheep work and assisting with cattle
• All animal husbandry duties (yard work, drenching, vaxxing, pasture rotation, water checks)
• Maintaining water pumps and pipes
• Maintaining and constructing electric fencing
• Transporting stock

General:

• Fencing and all other general farm duties as required
• Machinery maintenance

About you:

• Ability to pick up new skills and follow instructions
• Team player and not afraid of hard work
• Machinery maintenance and troubleshooting skills desirable
• Smokers OK – must not smoke in the machinery or accommodation

What’s on offer:

• Salary: Negotiated and depending on experience
• 9 hr days, 5.5 days per week (additional hours during the busy seasons)
• Accommodation: 4 bedroom, 1 bathroom (power and water included with rationed lamb and beef provided)
• Work vehicle
