About the Copy Team

The Rejuvenation Copy Team is responsible for delivering our brand narrative across all channels – from site and retail to email and social. As part of the Brand Marketing Team, we translate the seasonal campaign’s big ideas into compelling, on-brand language, creating a desire for our products with tips and inspiration for home projects of all sizes. As part of our team, you’ll bring your voice to the discussion.

Overview of the Junior Copywriter role

In this role, you will write for multiple channels: product information pages (PIP), site, emails, social, ads, and print – bringing to life both seasonal launches and always-on marketing campaigns. You will work closely with the Supervisor of Copy + Content and the Copywriter to align on the editorial vision, seasonal messaging, and creative approaches while seeking ways to amplify key products, categories, and brand initiatives. You will also work closely with the Brand Marketing, Creative, and DTC teams.

Responsibilities

  • Write fresh, informative, and inspiring copy for various marketing channels (landing pages, daily emails, social, ads, retail signs, hangtags, catalogs, print, and additional content projects as needed), aligning content with our monthly campaigns, editorial vision, brand strategies and priorities, and the Rejuvenation voice and tone.
  • Work with cross-functional partners on the Brand Marketing, Creative, and DTC teams to understand seasonal and evergreen goals for the brand and bring 360° campaigns to life through smart, emotional storytelling.
  • Collaborate with merchants, sourcing, and DTC to craft accurate and compelling product descriptions for our product information pages (PIP).
  • Work with the Copy Team to keep track of weekly copy deliverables, prioritize projects, and stay on top of deadlines.
  • Bring copy projects to the finish line, proofing final assets for accuracy and QA’ing before deployment.
  • Maintain consistent messaging across all channels – including web, email, social, product information, and print.
  • Translate merchant and strategic marketing initiatives into informative, concise, and compelling copy solutions.
  • Offer creative solutions to team feedback, applying relevant business and creative insights, and making timely edits and revisions.
  • Help steward our brand voice and tone, while looking for opportunities to further refine it.
  • Maintain copy style guide.
  • Keep up to date with home trends and the competitive landscape.
  • Manage workflow to meet business and copy deadlines.
  • Work well under tight deadlines and quick turnaround times.
  • Operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
  • Transport materials and equipment and lift, move, and carry objects up to 50 pounds on a limited basis.

Criteria

  • 1-2 years of experience copywriting; preferably working on creative teams – e.g., in-house brand team or agency experience – or as a freelancer with relevant creative experience.
  • Strong portfolio that displays ability to write in a warm, conversational tone. Background in retail marketing or the home and design industry preferred.
  • A self-starter who takes direction well, keeps an open mind, and remains flexible.
  • A team player and expert collaborator who enjoys working with fellow creatives.
  • Proven multitasker with experience working in fast-paced, collaborative creative environments, delivering a high volume of copy without sacrificing quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organization skills.
  • Proficiency in a Mac environment and with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe XD, Air Table).
  • Four-year degree in a related field preferred.
  • Ability to perform work on-site in our Portland office (currently a hybrid work model).
