Dining Room Lead Waitstaff

Episcopal Homes of Minnesota is a leader in senior care services for 125 years. We offer homes and services for people in Senior Apartments, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Care centers in the Midway area of St. Paul. We complement our homes with a home care service, foundation, a management company, and a robust campus life program that provides a fitness center, pool, theater, 1st class dining room, pub, and special events.

Job Summary:

Coordinates and supervises work of employees to ensure efficiency and adherence to established standards. Instructs and trains new employees as needed in all aspects of food service and sanitation

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently follows and enforces for conformance to standards by all employees
  • Ensures that portion control, appearance, and temperature for all food items is appropriate and high quality
  • Ensures timely beginning and end of meal services
  • Instructs and trains new employees as needed
  • Coordinates and supervises work of employees
  • Oversees sanitation and cleanliness of dining room/kitchen
  • Ensuring all prep is done including but not limited to fruit and salad bar prep
  • Ensuring food items are being used first in first out
  • Proper saving and storage of leftovers

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain on feet for most working hours.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, either early or late shifts.
  • Must be able to work flexible days-weekdays or weekends.
  • May be exposed to sharp instruments and power-driven equipment.
  • May be exposed to extremes of temperature.
  • May be exposed to caustic chemicals.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous Foodservice supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be able to fulfill all facility hiring practices.
  • High School education or equivalency.
  • Able to read, write and follow directions.
  • Strong production and personnel skills desirable.
  • Basic math skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge and understanding for completion of assigned tasks by using acceptable techniques.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of Foodservice sanitation and food production.
  • Demonstrates understanding of special diets.
