Northwest Freightways is looking for 6 reliable long haul drivers to join our crew here in Surrey. We’ve got LMIA pending for international drivers who are interested.

The Basics

• $37/hour
• You’re looking at 35-50 hours a week
• This is hands-on work – you’ll need to be here in person

What the job looks like

Honestly, it’s pretty straightforward trucking work. You’ll be driving our trucks on long hauls, moving goods from point A to point B. You’ll use GPS and route planning software to figure out the smartest way to get there while keeping fuel costs down.

Some trips you’ll do on your own, other times you’ll be paired up with another driver or rolling with a convoy. You’ll also be handling the physical stuff – loading and unloading cargo when needed, doing your vehicle checks (tires, brakes, lights, refrigeration – the whole nine yards), and keeping dispatch in the loop about where you are and how things are going.

Oh, and you’ll deal with payments and receipts for the goods you’re hauling too.

What you need

• High school diploma
• At least a month or two of driving experience (anything under 7 months works)
• Good English skills so you can communicate clearly
• Must be able to work on-site in Surrey
