Job Description
Agropur – St. John’s has an immediate need for a Maintenance Technician.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, and under the direction of the Chief Engineer, the successful applicant will complete all work assigned that is associated with maintenance, including maintenance of the building and premises, and boiler operations, as well as the production of dairy products. Duties to include but not limited to the following:
Maintain preventative maintenance schedule
Carry out emergency maintenance activities as required
Monitor boiler operations
Ensure that equipment is running at optimal capacity through operational checks such as observation and dye checks
Start up the plant at the beginning of the day for machine operators, performing CIP and COP duties
Assist with new installations and machine modifications
Resolve daily equipment problems
Operation of the HTST pasteurizer
Operation of dairy production equipment
Sanitizing and cleaning of all machinery
Keeping records and taking samples
Maintaining work areas in a neat and tidy condition with particular attention to health and safety

What you need to join our team:
Must possess 4th Class Power Engineer
Must possess Grade 12 or High School Equivalency (GED)
1 – 2 years experience in an industrial environment
Team player who also has the proven ability to work independent
Good technical and diagnostic skills
Ability to acquire and fully utilize skills in an efficient and practical manner to solve mechanical and electrical problems
Self-starter who is highly motivated and continuously seeks professional development
Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment
Electrical and mechanical knowledge and/or experience would be a definite asset
