Mechanical Apprentice (0154 Aug 2023) Job Details:

Royal Ocean Marine, a leading headhunting /recruitment agencies company in the maritime industry, is seeking a Mechanical Apprentice to join our client’s team. In this role, you will work closely with experienced mechanics, learning and developing skills essential to maintaining and repairing maritime equipment. The ideal candidate is a hardworking individual with a strong interest in maritime machinery, willing to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced mechanics in the maintenance and repair of ships’ engines and other mechanical systems.
• Learn to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues to contribute to effective repairs and maintenance.
• Use hand and power tools (e.g. wrenches, ratchets, grinders) safely and correctly.
• Adhere to safety protocols at all times to safeguard yourself, colleagues, and the environment.
• Keep accurate logs of work completed, including time spent and materials used.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure proper and timely job completion.
• Participate in on-the-job training opportunities to continue developing skills necessary to the role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enrollment in or completion of an accredited mechanic program preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn quickly.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Physical ability to perform duties, including standing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as dictated by job demands.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
