Non-Certifying Avionics Engineer Job Details:

PAL Technical Services is currently hiring a Non-Certifying Avionics Engineer to join our Force Multiplier team. This is a rotational position to the UK.

Force Multiplier (FM) is an on-demand intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) division located in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, Canada. FM aircraft are modified, maintained, owned, and operated by PAL Aerospace, a leader in international aerospace and defence design, development, and operation of airborne surveillance aircraft, heavy maintenance checks, and software applications. PAL Aerospace is driven by technology and is proud to be a pioneer of industry-leading innovations in airborne special missions.

As an FM crewmember, the Non-Certifying Avionics Engineer will join a world-class team, operating advanced electronic sensor systems, aboard long- and medium-range surveillance aircraft. FM crews maintain continual readiness to operate in Canada and around the world.

individuals must be able to work independently, as well as part of our motivated, close-knit, group of professionals; working together to deliver mission outputs required by our military, government, and civilian clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out and coordinate the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of all aircraft and aircraft components including heavy maintenance
  • Report to the Maintenance Supervisor on issues affecting the serviceability of aircraft
  • Ensure aircrafts are maintained in accordance with company and Transport Canada Regulations
  • Co-ordinate parts requirements with Maintenance Supervisor and ensure sufficient tools and equipment are made available to accomplish the maintenance and inspection functions
  • Administration and direction of safety practices and procedures
  • Conduct regular hangar and ramp inspections and report any noted deficiencies
  • Complete worksheets for work accomplished
  • Report unserviceable maintenance equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Transport Canada-approved Aircraft Maintenance Course completed
  • Avionics Technician with at least 3 years’ relevant experience
  • AME “E” License would be considered an asset
  • Experience working on ISR aircraft would be consider an asset
  • Ability to work shift work to support operational requirements
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • A thorough knowledge of company aircraft and their related systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, decision-making, organization, and communication skills
  • Must be willing to travel to UK on a rotational basis
  • Must be able to obtain a code of conduct and meet program security requirements
