Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of strong attention to detail, comfort in a dynamic and fast-paced project environment, a high degree of organization, and a strong passion for the utilization of technology to advance agriculture.

The Regional Precision Agriculture Field Manager (PAFM) primary responsibility is to ensure Project Charters are established with research partners (e.g., Land Grant Institutions) with a project plan that will enable FMC’s Precision Agriculture efforts. The PAFM will also work with the regional commercial team (including Regional Business Managers (RBM), Retail Market Managers (RMM) and Technical Service Managers (TSM)) to support sales enablement. Furthermore, the PAFM will act as the primary liaison between FMC and our project partners. The PAFM and cross functional teams will ensure delivery of project requirements and data collection which is the lifeblood of FMC Precision Agriculture. The candidate will have a high level of interaction to share project status and accomplishments directly with growers, retailers, independent crop consultants, and FMC Commercial and Precision Agriculture Leadership.

Expectations:

  • Engage with commercial stakeholders to include RBM, RMM, and TSMs. The Regional PAFM will act as the research field lead and partner relationship coordinator for FMC Precision Agriculture projects;
  • With direction from the Precision Ag. North America Regional Business Manager, the Regional PAFM will ensure Project Statements of Work are executed on a timely basis and in accordance with FMC policy;
  • Execute and/or manage multiple commercial and research projects simultaneously while articulating project status to various internal and external stakeholders across regions;
  • Coordinate with partners for technology deployment and research objective execution;
  • Review seasonal results with key stakeholders to ensure target metrics and goals are achieved;
  • Travel as needed to develop and maintain strong customer and stakeholder relationships;
  • Recruit, hire, and manage Precision Ag. Field Specialists and internship participants.

Required Education:

  • MS or PhD in Entomology, Plant Pathology/Physiology, Weed Science, Agronomy or other agricultural/related science or equivalent experience.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years’ experience in working with precision agriculture, agronomy services/research, chemical crop protection, or seed;
  • Knowledge and experience using precision agriculture technologies;
  • Capable of designing research projects that effectively address FMC Precision Agriculture and Key Stakeholders’ objectives;
  • A strong desire to conduct science-based research with the goal of benefiting multiple industry stakeholders;
  • Possess a strong understanding of the university extension system and crop pest research methodologies;
  • Ability to build and sustain strong business relationships with customers, university stakeholders, crop consultants, growers, and teammates;
  • Demonstrate ability to make decisions under minimum supervision and occasionally make decisions of complex nature within operating guidelines;
  • Candidate should have a clean driving record with ability to responsibly operate an FMC provided vehicle.
