Your Responsibilities
As a Product Development Process Assembly Manufacturing Engineer in the Air Seeding product line located in Valley City, ND you will work with design engineers to ensure products are designed for manufacturability. You will use lean manufacturing principles to develop assembly processes, line design and factory layouts, and support the launch of new products into the factory. You will also…
- Participate in Concurrent Design process to ensure parts that are more efficient and effective for manufacturing.
- Concept and procure assembly tooling, specialized racks, paint tooling, and lifting devices.
- Utilize E-Tools to determine the sequence of events, communicate issues and verify safety and ergonomic methods.
- Support project capital estimates by developing accurate tooling, equipment, facilities, and container/rack cost estimates.
- Support project labor estimates by developing accurate part routings and labor estimates.
- Participate in quality activities such as Functional Geometry Reviews and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis activities.
- Utilize design, tooling, and advanced technologies to integrate mistake-proofing into our parts and methods.
- Lead Design for Manufacturing activities to resolve manufacturing, safety and ergonomic issues, and quality metrics.

What Skills You Need
- Experience with problem solving and working in a team environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- 1 to 3 years manufacturing engineering experience in a factory environment
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems and graphical process planning tools (JDAAT, MPPlanner and DLBT)
- Experience with line design, material presentation, cycle balancing
- Experience with 3D modeling software, specifically Creo & Auto CAD
- Experience with new product delivery process
- Experience with tooling design
- Knowledge of capital budgeting and capital equipment justification
- Experience with shop floor manufacturing, incentive pay systems, and work measurement
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience
