Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Testing
- Working with design engineers to properly test products per specifications
- Prepare and maintain detailed test reports with accurate data, results, and observations
- Assist in the development, writing, and improvement of testing methodologies and procedures
- Assist with design and assembly of prototypes, tear-down samples, and test fixtures
- Ability to develop test requirements from standards documentation
- Calibration & Equipment
- Schedule and maintain calibration records of equipment and measurement devices
- Coordinating repair, maintenance, and calibration of test equipment with contractors
- Safety
- Set up and operate testing equipment and tools with strict adherence to safety guidelines and protocols
- Work with the safety leader and be a champion of safety for the lab. This includes maintaining the lab in clean and safe order, maintaining chemical storage of lab, performing periodic inspections of lab and equipment
- General
- Procuring materials for lab and engineers
- Daily upkeep of the lab facility applying strong organizational and 6S skills
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills with understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and equipment
- Strong computer skill sets including Microsoft Word, Excel and general engineering software
- Apply principles of science, engineering, and mathematics to solve technical problems
- Ability to read and comprehend testing standards and practices
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify obstacles and alternative solutions
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills of technical information to diverse audience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to meet deadlines while producing high quality results
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
- Ability to maintain cooperative, professional, respectful working relationships and interact with both internal and external customers and outside contractors
- Effective listening and comprehension skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements with a positive attitude
- Having a work ethic of enthusiasm, dynamism, and a positive, can-do attitude
- Having a continuous improvement mindset with the ability to receive feedback and implement change
- Flexibility to adjust work hours including occasional shift change, weekend work, and overtime
- Must be able to wear ANSI Z87 approved safety glasses as required
- Must be able to wear electric shock hazard safety shoes or other PPE as required
- Ability to stand, walk, crouch, stoop, bend, reach, and climb for prolonged periods of time
Required Education and Work Experience
- Associate Degree in Engineering Technology
- Level I Technician requires up to 2 years of related work experience
- Level II Technician requires a minimum of 2 years of related work experience
- Level III Technician requires a minimum of 5 years of related work experience
