Our Burnaby plant’s Production Manager is responsible for ensuring seamless dairy operations from pasteurizing to packaging for our many customers! The Production Manager will be joining our Senior Leadership team reporting to the Plant Manager.
What’s involved in this role?
- Budgetary planning and compliance
- Ensure continuous improvement with LEAN methodology and tools
- Promote a positive work environment and adopt a culture of continuous improvement
- Manage a team of hourly employees, foremen, and Supervisors while ensuring operational excellence
- Provide coaching and support to Supervisors
- Ensure scheduling and work planning are developed in accordance with the budget and company needs while following the CBA
- Manage period end counts on packaging and ingredients
- Ensure Production department is compliant with the Quality sanitization program
- Promote a culture of safety, zero recordables, and 100% compliance with all regulations, while following all accident protocols
- Capital Project identification and planning with other Agropur Leadership
- Manage training budgets
- Develop standards, policies, and procedures, for the Production areas in terms of performance management
- Responsible for inter-department communications
- Working with other Senior Leadership for effective people management
- Assist with special projects and be a change agent for the plant
- Workforce planning
What you need to join our team
- The ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team
- Knowledge of the CPG industry
- Working knowledge of LEAN principles and process improvement
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar leadership role
- Similar work experience is preferred
- Experience working with a unionized workforce
- Strong communication skills
- Solid planning and time management skills
- Ability to efficiently direct people
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Thrive in a fast-paced work environment
