An exciting opportunity exists in St. Paul, Alberta! St. Paul is located approximately 200 km northeast of Edmonton. The area is home to approximately 6000 people. St. Paul is along the southern leg of the Iron Horse Trail – 300 km of former railroad that has been adapted for hiking, biking, horseback riding, quadding, or snowmobiling. If trails aren’t for you, they also offer both indoor and outdoor ice rinks, a curling rink, a riding barn and fair grounds, tennis courts, golf course, ball diamonds and soccer fields. Camping, fishing and other lake activities are in abundance as there are many, many beautiful lakes surrounding our town.
Description:
As a Recreation Therapist I, you will be working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, providing comprehensive services for patients (clients, residents) within your assigned program or service area. You will ensure the level of therapeutic recreation practice is evidence based, patient-and family-centred, and in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of practice. You will complete assessment, treatment, education and management of clients¿ treatment progress and provide clinical support and consultation. You will collaborate and communicate with the health care team and participate in patient rounds, family conferences and meetings as related to the client and family.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies. Active or eligible registration with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA). Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year experience in Mental Health and able to work in a complex, fast-paced environment, managing high acuity, and high risk presentations. Preferred Qualifications:
