Scientist II Job Details:
Duties:
Perform essential protein expression experiments using suspension CHO cells for the creation of new biotherapeutic drugs.
Culture of CHO cells: determination of all cell-culture parameters (VCD/Viability etc.)
Transfection, culture monitoring, Harvest, Titer determination and Western blot analysis as needed.
Implement new technologies in the areas of antibody expression for mammalian host systems.
Contributes to lab organization, reagent tracking and other tasks as determined appropriate
Designs and executes experiments with minimal supervision
Independently analyzes and interprets experimental results including statistical analysis
Prepares and contributes to cross functional data reports
Proposes, follows up and troubleshoots scientific experiments
Independently presents scientific findings in project team or Department meetings
Actively participates in cross-functional teams/initiatives
Independently writes protocols, SOPs, technical reports in accordance with company policies
Skills:
Thorough understanding of cell culture basics.
Hands-on experience in cell culture (mammalian) and exceptional aseptic techniques.
Strong attention to details and excellent organizational skills.
Able to learn quickly and excel in a past-faced work environment; self-motivation, adaptability and positive attitude.
Hands-on experience in handling automation/HTP antibody expression is a plus
Ability to work in plate based formats (24 well, 96 well)
Knowledge of DNA and molecular biology including basic DNA quality assessments
Hands on experience with stable pool generation and fed batch production is a plus

Concise and accurate reporting of technical data and information
Ability to troubleshoot and multi-task
