Senior Farm Manager: Laying and Rearing – UitenhageSovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces. The Agriculture division is looking for a thorough and committed individual to assume the position of Senior Farm Manager: Laying & Rearingfor its Breeder operations and rearing .The Senior Farm Manager: Laying & Rearing is responsible for contributing to the achievement of the Laying/Rearing KPI’s through providing the highest level of service and support, by driving the core focus surrounding all aspects during Laying and rearing, ensuring top quality and consistent results. This position reports to Area Manager. The ideal candidate must be in possession of a tertiary qualification in an agricultural field and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing large, commercial, Laying and Rearing facilities .Results RequiredEnsure achievement of production KPI’s;Auditing Biological Risk Compliance and S.O.P compliance;Implement such control measures to ensure that overheads are controlled to budget and continuously strive to reduce costs through enhanced efficiencies etc.;Ensure that safe working procedures are adhered to at all times;Strict Risk control, including farm stock, assets and monitoring of alarms;Ensure that assets are well maintained and are kept in 100% operational condition at all times;Ensure that the supporting services such as catching, manure removal, cleaning and disinfection and preparation are executed against a defined standard and that results achieved meet the requirements;Ensure that the best farming practices are defined and implemented across the division.Critical Competencies and SkillsStrong leadership and managerial competencies;Inclined towards problem solving, fact finding and trouble shooting;Attentive to detail and a systematic, methodical approach Attentive to detail with a systematic and methodical approach;Excellent planning and organizational skills in a changing environment;Computer literacy;Driven to achieve results and produce quality;Leader who energizes those around him/ her.As Sovereign is an equal opportunity employer, preference will be given to applicants of designated groups, as defined by the Employment Equity Act.Appropriately qualified and experienced individuals should submit a detailed CV, copies of relevant certificates and a copy ID to the HR Team.Job Type: Full-timeApplication Deadline: 2023/09/14
