Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Socio-Economic Development Officer to join our team! In this role you will get to work with a dynamic socioeconomic team and support the Socio-Economic Manager in all reporting to the client and provide support to monthly, quarterly reporting and annual reporting​.

Parsons is the Construction Manager of the Giant Mine Remediation Project. This is a world class remediation project using innovative methods to deliver a safe environment. The project is expected to last over 10 years and is located just outside the City of Yellowknife, NWT. An important component of the Giant Mine Remediation Project is to maximize the opportunities for Local, Northern and Indigenous Businesses when it comes to Labour, Training and Procurement. How Parsons undertakes this priority is through all our Contracts we issue, and by including Indigenous Opportunities Considerations (IOC). These IOC’s require successful contractors to commit to maximizing local content within those three categories.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Reports to Socioeconomic Development Manager
  • Collects and assembles Indigenous Opportunities Considerations Monthly Report and Quarterly Reports
  • Supports socioeconomic quarterly reports
  • Supports progressing Indigenous Opportunities Considerations Closure Reports
  • Supports the Crown Indigenous Relations Northern Affairs Canada Socio-economic Annual Report
  • Attends biweekly progress meetings for subcontracts and provides Indigenous Opportunities Considerations updates
  • Records meeting minutes as required
  • Updates Engagement Log Reports
  • Directs Giant Mine Remediation Project website inquiries to the proper team member

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • Experience with receiving monthly reports from contractors, conducting analysis on these reports, compiling them, and preparing summaries for the Socioeconomic Development Manager.
  • Experience coordinating meetings such as organizing meeting logistics, agenda creation, taking records of decisions/meeting minutes, tracking action items etc.
  • Corporate reporting and analytical skills
  • Experience providing administrative support in a work environment
  • Experience using SharePoint, MS Teams, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience managing correspondence and confidential information.
