The Tribal Government Liaison represents Humana to Native American Medicaid Enrollees and Indian Health Care Providers. The Tribal Government Liaison will be responsible for outreach strategy to Enrollees, Indian Health Care Providers (IHCPs), Urban Indian Clinics (I/T/Us), and Indian Tribe representatives. The individual in this role serves as a resource to and advocate for American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) Enrollees, and IHCPs during their interactions with Humana’s Medicaid plan. The Tribal Government Liaison helps identify health needs requiring specialized intervention, such as chronic diseases or access to care shortages. The individual in this role advises health plan executives to help develop functional strategies for improving health outcomes of Native American Enrollees.
Responsibilities
Listen to the voice of the Native American Enrollee to identify opportunities to improve their experience
Work with the Tribal Concierge Unit to support operational procedures and best practices related to health plan operations and services for network practices affecting Native American Enrollees
Drive the implementation of population health and health equity initiatives and optimize capabilities to achieve desired outcomes
Optimize models and workflows that focus on social, environmental, and economic factors having the greatest influence on health across the Native health community
Collaborate with health plan leaders to develop strategic, process-driven, and technical solutions for improving quality of services delivered to Native American Enrollees
Required Qualifications
Must reside in the state of Oklahoma, preferably the Oklahoma City area
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years’ managing projects and cross functional team
Strong cultural awareness, knowledge, and understanding of Native American health issues, particularly among the Medicaid population
Experience working directly with Indian Health Care Providers (IHCPs)
Ability to analyze data and make informed recommendations
Experience developing relationships with key stakeholders to understand and improve the program
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree
Experience with Medicaid/Medicare operations
