Seasonal Horticultural Labourer Job Description:

PLL Contractors Company requires 300 seasonal horticultural labourers from April 2023, through until March 2024 on a number of fruit and nut plantations in the Renmark District of South Australia and surrounds.

The work is outdoors and involves harvesting, pruning, thinning, packing, and general crop management, and will be available for up to 9 months. Workers must be available for the whole 9 months. Due to the high physical demands of these positions, workers will need to be physically fit, self-motivated, and work flexible hours as start times vary depending on the weather.

It is preferred but not essential that applicants have experience in citrus, almond, and stonefruit picking, pruning, thinning, packing, and general crop management.

Hours of work will vary according to harvest requirements and the weather. Wages will be paid at both the hourly award and the standard piece rate based on the Horticultural Award 2010 rates and work will be over 5-7 days per week, depending on the tasks.
