In Warehouse Examiner, you will serve as a warehouse inspector for Agricultural Marketing Services (AMS), Fair Trade Practices Program (FTPP), and Warehouse Commodity Management Division (WCMD). You will be responsible for performing warehouse inspections and inspection reviews to support the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC), the Uniform Grain and Rice Storage Agreement (UGRSA), and the United States Warehouse Act (USWA).
Responsibilities:
- The responsibilities described apply to all performance levels. In the developmental grades, the scope of homework will be more limited, with less independence and complexity.
- Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Perform various warehouse inspections (original, follow-up, revised and special).
- Ensure that warehouse operations are performed in accordance with US warehouse laws or other storage agreements.
- Acting as a technical consultant for USWA applications, explaining contract terms for storage and processing of government-owned or loaned commodities.
- Review inspection/audit reports to determine compliance with USWA and/or applicable storage agreements.
- Verify that the warehouse operator’s records and receipts comply with the requirements of regulations, storage agreements and/or contracts.
- Prepare an inspection report detailing the area covered, adverse conditions, required corrective actions, and the status of each measure required by the warehouse operator.
- Plan warehouse inspection activities.
- Need to travel

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
Education: Undergraduate and postgraduate education: including at least 24 semesters of marketing, economics, business administration, agriculture, accounting, engineering, business, transportation or related courses.

Experience: Professional experience (applicable to positions above GS-5): Examples of qualified professional experience include:
The manager or supervisory officer of an agricultural product storage facility. Experience must include responsibility for the receipt, care, and delivery of agricultural products and the issuance of warehouse receipts.
Federal or state warehouse inspectors are responsible for inspecting agricultural storage facilities.
An auditor, accountant, or bookkeeper employed by an agricultural product storage facility.
Agricultural employees who participate in commodity loan inspections, farm storage facility inspections, and warehouse record inspections and verifications.
Work as a licensee under the U.S. Grain Standards Act and check the condition and grade of grains in accordance with the official standards of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
And; must meet the following conditions:
Driver’s License-Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license.
Medical requirements-If selected for this position, a medical examination is required.
