Field Sales Representative II – Tasks And Responsibilities:
As Channel Seed’s field sales representative, you will be responsible for expanding Bayer’s Seed & Trait business market share in northwestern Illinois with independent Channel Seedsman distributors, including Rock Island, Henry, Whiteside, and Carroll. This role will report to the local regional business manager.
The main responsibilities of this role are Field Sales Representative II-Channel Seed-Illinois:
- Coordinate with pod mates (Bayer sales staff in the region) to use Bayer products to achieve the specified goals;
- Develop and implement dealer business plans, actively manage forecasting, inventory management and product line demand issues, determine business directions, and coordinate with dealers to follow up;
- As a key business consultant for retailers and distributors, effectively sell the value of Bayer Crop Science products;
- Prove the performance of the product in the competition by becoming the champion of the Bayer brand
- Product/technology/agronomic knowledge;
- Cooperate with pod-mate Archive Sales Representative (FSR), Customer Business Advisor (CBA), and Bayer Agronomist and Technical Development Representative (TDR) to maximize service, information and sales to preferred growers and key customers;
- Actively manage inventory issues as appropriate to ensure successful achievement of business goals;
- Collect, absorb and analyze market and competition information;
- Use data to make key decisions to promote business development;
- Follow the established strategy to realize long-term and short-term business plans for key customers and designated areas;
- Product/technology/agronomic knowledge;

Qualifications:
- At least three years of sales, marketing, customer management or agricultural experience;
- Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, oral and written);
- Demonstrate initiative, decisiveness and ability to drive results;
- Keen business acumen, customer planning, influence and critical thinking skills;
- Financial, time and territorial management capabilities;
- Prove that it can handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and matrix environment;
- Strong computer and presentation skills (proficient in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
- Demonstrate digital acuity and the ability to analyze data to influence decision-making;
- Willing to travel and live/work in a rural environment;
- Demonstrate interest in supporting collaboration and teamwork within the pod structure;
- Be able to pass background checks on driving records (ie, illegal driving, accidents, license cancellation, etc.
- The job requirement is to drive in a company that may fall under the jurisdiction of DOT/FMCSA. This may require hauling trailers, products, supplies or equipment in a safe manner.
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Demonstrate products, product portfolios, and agronomic knowledge. May provide domestic relocation assistance for this role.
