About the company:

Our client is a Federal Government Department who are looking for an experienced Payroll Team Leader to join their Shared Services team. A great opportunity to join Federal Government on a 12-month fixed term contract.

About the role:

• Managing a payroll team to meet all departmental people management obligations.
• Training and mentoring staff to ensure the team competently undertake all tasks at a high level.
• Coaching and mentoring sessions with the team.
• Reporting and processing duties, to ensure the team are working to processing deadlines and timeframes.
• Managing escalations.
• Preparing complex correspondence.
• Stakeholder engagement.
• Communicating and implementing any changes in legislation or process.
• Initiate and implement payroll projects.
• Performance management

About you:

• You will have previous experience working as a team leader or managing staff in a payroll environment.
• You will have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• You will be a born solver, with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
• You will experience working with and interpreting legislation, policies and procedures.
• You will have a high level attention to detail.
• You will ideally have experience working on payroll projects previously.

Benefits:

• ASAP start pending Federal Police Clearance
• 12-month fixed term contract (non-ongoing) – employed directly by Federal Government
• Full time hours Monday to Friday
• $88,408 – $100,378 per annum
• Location – Darwin, NT
