Assistant Farm Manager Job Details:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Farm Manager to join our thriving suckler farm operation in Ireland. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in cattle farming, excellent management skills, and a passion for sustainable agriculture. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our farm.

Responsibilities:

Livestock Management:

· Oversee the daily care and management of the suckler herd

Farm Infrastructure and Equipment:

· Assist in the maintenance and repair of farm machinery and infrastructure, ensuring they are in good working condition.

· Report any equipment issues or repairs needed to the Farm Manager.

· Help manage inventory of farm supplies and equipment.

Team Management:

· Work closely with farm laborers and seasonal workers, providing guidance, training, and supervision as needed.

· Coordinate daily tasks and labor allocation to ensure efficient farm operations.

Record Keeping and Reporting:

· Maintain accurate records related to cattle health, breeding, and production.

· Prepare reports and share regular updates with the Farm Manager.

Environmental Stewardship:

· Promote sustainable farming practices, including waste management and land conservation.

· Comply with all environmental regulations and farm policies.

Safety and Compliance:

· Ensure safety protocols are followed on the farm to prevent accidents and injuries.

· Stay informed about and adhere to all relevant farm regulations and standards.

Skills Required:

· Proven experience in cattle farming, particularly in a suckler herd environment.

· Knowledge of livestock management, breeding, and nutrition.

· Strong leadership and communication skills.

· Proficiency in farm machinery operation and maintenance.

· Familiarity with agricultural software and record-keeping systems.

· Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

· Knowledge of Irish farming regulations and best practices is a plus.

· A valid driver’s license is required.
