About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an Australian Government Authorised Meat Inspector to join our dynamic team based at our Longford Plant, 15 minutes from Launceston’s city centre. If you are the successful applicant you will be highly motivated, experienced and love working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Perform Australian Government Authorised Officer (Meat Inspector) (AGAO) role for bovine
- Perform slaughter floor food safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) functions as directed by FSQA Manager.
- Learn and perform FSQA officer monitoring activities.
- Report to the FSQA Management any inadequacy in Plant programs or processing procedures.
- Assist the company in maintaining compliance to current Australian Standards.
- Undertake other related activities as directed by Plant Management Teams.
About you:
- Sound understanding of FSQA principles within a beef processing facility,
- Ability to demonstrate competencies in knife skills.
- Sound verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate consistently positive work attributes within current working environment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating organisational and time management skills
Development & Growth requirements:
- Certificate IV in Meat Processing (Meat Safety) issued within the previous 5 years, including the units:
- AMPMSY303 – Conduct ante-mortem inspection and make disposition (or equivalent)
- AMPLSK301 – Handle animals humanely while conducting ante-mortem inspection (or equivalent)
OR
- Certificate III in Meat Processing (Meat Safety) issued within the previous 5 years, plus the units:
- AMPMSY303 – Conduct ante-mortem inspection and make disposition (or equivalent)
- AMPLSK301 – Handle animals humanely while conducting ante-mortem inspection (or equivalent).
