Farm Assistant – Thornton/Wha Job Details:

Job Description We seek an experienced farm hand who is a motivated person to assist on our Dairy Farm in Thornton, 15 minutes from Whakatane, Bay of Plenty.

Fixed Term Agreement starting ASAP – 31 Jan 24 (Due to seasonal peak)

Duties include milking twice daily, feeding out, effluent mgmt, confident in heavy machinery and general day to day farm duties.

This person will be working in a team of 4 and may be required to help on a 2nd neighbouring farm we also operate.

This position is to be part of the 500 cow farm but duties may cross over to the 250 cow farm. Both sheds are 30 aside herringbones.

This position offers:

• Support for industry training.
• Rostered time off 11 days on 3 days off. Days off being Sunday-Tuesday

The successful applicant will have:

• Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team

– Be aware of all health and safety requirements and comply

– Be drug free
