Financial Controller Job Details:

Australia is the world’s major producer of macadamia nuts, the only Australian native food crop that has ever been developed and traded internationally as a commercial food product.

Bundaberg is a city in south-east Queensland, Australia, about 385 kilometres (4 hour drive) north of Brisbane. Bundaberg is the business centre for a major sugar cane growing area, and is well known for its namesake export, Bundaberg Rum. The city is an important tourism gateway for inland national parks and the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef and resort islands.

Macadamia Farm Management (MFM) was established in 1987 in response to the increasing demand for specialist, high-quality farm management in the macadamia industry. What is the role:

The newly created Financial Controller position will drive financial organisational performance through effective strategic planning, continuous improvement, financial management and reporting and inspirational leadership.

You are degree qualified CA/CPA with 5+ of years of experience in a senior or equivalent role. Ideally you also have a passion for the agricultural industry or at least a desire to learn more about it.

Specific key selection criteria for this position:

1. Minimum of 5+ years demonstrated working experience in a senior finance or Financial Controller position in a medium to large size organisation.

2. Minimum Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance and or Business and CA/CPA qualified

3. Experience developing and executing strategic and operational financial plans.

4. Experience developing and executing financial budgets across multiple entities and departments.

5. Experience working with and implementing financial software packages and technology, such as BI systems.

6. Experience working with large teams to drive performance.

7. Advanced computer literacy, in particular MS Word, Excel and Outlook Excel.

8. Demonstrated working knowledge of MYOB, Xero and other high level finance software packages.

9. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

10. Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal.

11. Highly organised with exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills.
