Part Time Personal Care Worker Traineeships with the Possibility of Ongoing Employment

Partnering with TAFE Qld our traineeship program gives you the opportunity to work for us whilst gaining a Certificate III Individual Support qualification. This is a perfect opportunity for you to learn on the job and receive mentoring and support. No experience required!

The Importance of this Role

This is your opportunity to get your foot in the door of one of Australia’s largest and most diverse not-for-profit organisations. As part of the COFC traineeship program, you will undertake a combination of study and paid work, to achieve your Certificate III in Individual Support. There will also be the opportunity to receive ongoing employment at the conclusion of the program.

We have traineeship opportunities in our Fair Haven Hervey Bay Aged Care Service, you will begin your traineeship by attending a two-week block of training, where you will learn what it means to be a care worker at Churches of Christ. After the two-weeks you will begin on-the job training and given the opportunity to put into practice what you have learnt.

During your varied day you will:

  • Provide personal care and physical and emotional support to residents who require assistance with daily living;
  • Maintain the personal dignity and privacy of all residents, their representatives and staff,
  • Support and assist in the provision of a comfortable, safe and secure environment,
  • Be supported in your learning on-the-job by experienced team members and assisted to obtain a formal qualification in Individual Support.

Please Note: This is a government funded traineeship, to apply you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a visa that is eligible for Government Funded Study, financial incentives available for eligible trainees.
