Solicitor | Local Government & Public Works Act (Auckland) Job Details:

Fluid is proud once again to be working alongside our partner client for the appointment of a Public Works Act and/ or local government focused Solicitor/ Associate in the Auckland CBD office.

The firm is highly regarded and known for their excellence in providing specialised advice on critical infrastructure projects and commercial real estate ventures nationwide.

About You

Ideally, you will have 3-6 years PQE, but this bracket can be stretched either side so we encourage you to still apply if you have a relevant skillset.

You may be already be a seasoned commercial property lawyer who is interested to sink their teeth into this nature of work, or alternatively you might already be well-versed and competent demonstrating your expertise in working for one or more of the following:

  • Local authorities in undertaking acquisitions for three waters infrastructure whether pursuant to section 181 of the Local Government Act 2002 or the Public Works Act 1981.
  • Local authorities in infrastructure funding or development agreements.
  • Other acquiring authorities eg. Auckland Transport in undertaking acquisitions for roads, telecommunications, or electricity networks.
  • The Crown in developments projects (eg. Kainga Ora for housing).

Your work portfolio and training will be adjusted to fit your level of experience, so we encourage you to reach out if you have a genuine desire to become an expert within your niche and engage in long term, complex project work. Ultimately, you will contribute to the improvement and development of key New Zealand infrastructure.
