We’re hiring for a really solid independent bodyshop in Glasgow. They’ve been around for years, they know what they’re doing, and they treat their vehicles (and their staff) properly. No corporate nonsense, no unnecessary pressure – just good, honest work in a clean, well-equipped workshop.

They handle everything from insurance jobs to high-end resprays, and they’ve built up a proper reputation doing it. The kind of place where customers come back because they trust the work.

What the job actually involves

You’ll be refinishing vehicles to a high standard. Nothing glamorous, just solid prep, paint, and finishing work. Here’s what that looks like day-to-day:

• Prepping panels – sanding, masking, priming, making sure everything’s clean and ready
• Mixing paint and getting the color match spot on (they use the good stuff: Spies Hecker, Sikkens, Standox, etc.)
• Spraying primer, base, and clear with HVLP guns
• Using the paint booth for curing
• Polishing and finishing until it’s right – no shortcuts
• Sorting out minor stuff like scratches, chips, scuffs when needed
• Keeping your area tidy and safe
• Working with the rest of the team – panel beaters, estimators, whoever – to keep things moving

What they’re after

Honestly? Someone who gives a damn about the finish. You don’t need to be a magician, but you do need to know your way around a spray gun and actually care about the result.

Ideally:

• You’ve done this before – paintwork, refinishing, bodyshop stuff
• You understand paint systems and how to get a proper match
• You can work to a high standard without someone breathing down your neck
• You’re the kind of person who notices when something’s not quite right
• You’re comfortable in a spray booth and know how to use the equipment properly
• You show up, get on with it, and work well with others
• You’re either eligible to work in the UK already, or you qualify for a Skilled Worker visa

• £36K to £42K depending on experience
