Capstone are proud to be working with a leading global EPC contractor, that is both developing and delivering innovative and strategically located solar farms across regional Australia. From initially locating suitable land and partnering with landowners, they take projects through engineering design, planning approval, grid connection, financing & investment stages and into construction and operation.

The company brings together industry leaders with a strong track record in the development and construction of large-scale renewable energy projects. The team have collectively developed multiple renewable energy projects across Australia, Europe and the Pacific Region and are specialists in the land use, planning, engineering, energy and finance sectors.

The Role:

Reporting to the Site Manager, the HSE Manager will lead and oversee the implementation of our clients safety and environmental processes and procedures on site and audit sub-contractor compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure effective implementation of our clients safety and environmental procedures and practices on site, ensuring construction teams are characterised by a “Safe Working Culture.”
• Ensure all activities on our clients projects are undertaken in a safe manner, and with the application of suitable frameworks and documentation in accordance with legislation and regulations.
• Lead site inductions and record site attendance
• Review of sub-contractors SWMS
• Attend and advise sub-contractors toolbox talks
• Undertake, or lead, site specific investigations in relation to Safety related incidents or issues and provide recommendations to construction teams on suitable controls to avoid a repeat.
• Maintain a ‘Safe Working Culture’ on site through ongoing active engagement and education of leaders and the workforce.
• Instill a proactive can-do attitude and positive team culture across the construction teams.
• Maintain effective record management in relation to Safety, Health and Environment activities.
• Escalate and report incidents /issues to senior management as per agreed framework.
• Foster a positive working relationship with sub-contractors and escalate/report issues as per agreed framework.
• Review Safety Reporting actively identifying areas of increased incident / risk, provide solutions / recommendations to Project Manager to address
• Represent HSE of our client during internal and external construction audits, as well as ensure its positive outcome.
• Contribute to lessons learned and further development and improvement of construction methods on future projects
