Skills Provision is searching for a passionate Design Manager for a respected organisation in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The hiring business manufactures cost-effective and high-quality wood and metal furniture for commercial and industrial markets.

Work Permit/Sponsorship is available for this role.

Package

AED 20,000-25,000 p/m (basic, HRA, and transport)

Role Overview

• Lead the design team in standard and custom products
• Oversee concept designs, technical drawings and prototypes for furniture and doors
• Collaborate with other business teams to ensure customer satisfaction
• Manage material estimations, ensuring the Bill of Materials (BOM) is thorough and cost-effective
• Supervise the team of draughtsmen
• Coordinate with the production team, ensuring any changes during the project life cycle are implemented
• Manage and mentor the design and drafting team
• Lead the development of custom designs
• Explore new materials and production techniques
• Identify market opportunities and areas of improvement
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design/Furniture Design/Engineering or related field.

Experience:

• At least 7 years of experience in furniture design and development (standard and custom products)
• Design team management experience, including task management
• In-depth knowledge of furniture-making techniques and materials; wood, metals, and upholstery
• Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD/SolidWorks or similar
• Experienced in material estimation and Bill of Materials (BOM) creation
• High attention to detail and quality
• Able to adapt to changing customer requirements
• Capable of managing multiple projects concurrently
• Effectively communicate in English (verbally and written). Arabic would also be beneficial
