Reporting to the Manager, Regulatory Crop Protection & Adjuvant the Regulatory Specialist – Adjuvants will be responsible for leading and/or supporting all aspects of regulatory compliance related to Nutrien’s adjuvant portfolio in US and CAN. This role requires strong regulatory expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and a strategic mindset to develop and implement effective regulatory strategies. The successful candidate will also oversee label review processes, develop regulatory processes, and stay up to date with relevant regulatory changes and industry trends, and will have experience with California, Washington and Maine State regulations.

What you will do:

  • Lead the registration process for new and existing adjuvant products with the applicable USA States, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, guidelines, and submission requirements (including California, Washington and Maine)
  • Regulatory Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Customer service, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Legal, to establish regulatory strategies that align with business goals, product development plans, and market expansion objectives for the adjuvant portfolio.
  • Track and maintain product registration status, renewal times, submission status, compliance activities, etc.
  • Oversee the review and approval of product labels, ensuring compliance with Federal and/or State-specific regulations (including California, Washington and Maine)
  • Coordinate regulatory activities with third party entities including research permits, arrangement and monitoring laboratory and field studies, certificates, etc.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and developments related to Adjuvant regulations in USA and Canada, assess their impact on the company, and proactively communicate and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
  • Work closely with internal teams to provide regulatory guidance and support, including product development, manufacturing, marketing, etc.
  • Develop and improve internal regulatory processes, workflows, and documentation to streamline operations and ensure efficient compliance with applicable State regulations. Support and participate in activities such as external audits, regulatory agency inspections, or product recalls.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other relevant stakeholders. Work with State and Local agencies to resolve technical or other regulatory/registration issues.
  • Lead the registration process for new and existing adjuvant products with Health Canada, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, guidelines, and submission requirements.
  • Conduct training sessions and provide guidance to internal teams on regulatory requirements, policies, and best practices to foster a culture of compliance.
  • Lead and perform work the Nutrien Way – engaging in corporate, policies, programs and practices, including SH&E regulations and standards, to bring our Culture of Care to life
  • Perform other related duties, as required

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (chemistry or biology preferred, or a related field including environmental engineering, entomology, agronomy, biological sciences, agriculture, etc.); experience may be considered in lieu of education; Postgraduate and advanced degrees preferred
  • 5+ years’ of experience in regulatory affairs, with a focus on registration and compliance in the agricultural input industry; 6+ years’ of experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of registrations of adjuvants in Canada
  • Strong understanding of USA State-specific regulations for adjuvants, guidelines, and submission requirements
  • Working knowledge of CPDA certifications
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful regulatory strategies to support business objectives
  • Willingness to learn, teach and share information with teammates, peers, and management
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess complex regulatory issues and provide practical solutions
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex regulatory information to various audiences
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
  • Proficient in using Microsoft office, regulatory software and databases

Compensation & Benefits:

The estimated salary that Indeed, Glassdoor and LinkedIn suggested does not represent Nutrien’s compensation structure.

$77,600 to $129,960. This range is estimated for Remote, USA. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
